POPULAR QUESTIONS

Start with the right question.

01 / PRODUCT DESIGN

What should I validate before building an app?

Identify a specific user, the job they need to complete and how you will know the app is useful. Test a simple prototype with people who would actually use it. Capture failed tasks as well as favourable feedback.

02 / DATA LOCATION

Does a data processing agreement mean my data stays in Europe?

No. A DPA sets out processing responsibilities, but does not itself establish storage location. The service's technical architecture and suppliers determine where data is processed or accessed.

03 / HOSTING

Does EU hosting automatically make an app GDPR-compliant?

No. EU hosting can be one part of a data-protection approach. Lawful bases, notices, retention, access rights, security and international transfer assessments still matter.

04 / AUTHORS

Which parts of a non-fiction book are suitable for an app?

Look for exercises, assessments, checklists and routines that readers need repeatedly. A concept worth exploring must solve a real ongoing problem, not simply reproduce the chapters in another format.

05 / OPERATIONS

What happens when a hosted service is unavailable?

Review the provider's specific availability commitments, backup policy, restoration process and support arrangements. Do not assume a hosted service is automatically highly available.

06 / SECURITY

What should an app specification include?

At minimum: intended users, input and output data, user journeys, access controls, acceptance tests, operational responsibilities and a realistic approach to ongoing support.
