Does OverSkill's DPA mean your members' data is in Europe?

Published 21 October 2026. OverSkill pages checked 21 October 2026.

Short answer: no. A data processing agreement sets out how a supplier looks after personal data. It does not decide where that data is stored.

What a DPA is

A DPA is a contract between you and a supplier that handles personal data for you. It covers what they may do with it, how they keep it safe, which other suppliers they use, and what happens if something goes wrong. It is important, but it is a set of promises, not a place.

How OverSkill moves data from Europe

OverSkill says its app databases are in North America, and that transfers from the UK and EU are made under the EU's standard contractual clauses with the UK addendum. These are a recognised legal route for sending personal data outside Europe. This article does not suggest otherwise.

Why some creators still want their data in Europe

OverSkill's terms also make the app builder responsible for the personal data in their app (section 4.2, terms dated 30 September 2026). Knowing where it is held is part of that.

What EU hosting from Oakleaf Press changes

Your app's member data is stored and processed on servers that Oakleaf Press manages in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, with encrypted daily backups in Frankfurt, Germany. The service is managed by Oakleaf Press from the UK. Oakleaf Press does not store or log that data in the US.

Your app's interface is still served by OverSkill, so OverSkill's servers see technical connection details such as visitors' IP addresses. Payments are handled by your payment provider, such as Whop or Stripe, under its own terms.
