Keep your app's member data in the EU
You built your app with OverSkill, Lovable, Manus, Replit or Base44, and your members pay you every month. Their names, emails and activity are part of your business. If you or your members are in the UK or Europe, you may want to know exactly where that data is held.
A DPA is not the same as data held in Europe
A data processing agreement (DPA) is a contract that says how a supplier looks after personal data. It does not decide where the data is stored.
Many app builders store app data in the US by default, and some offer EU storage only on higher-priced plans. So it is worth checking where your own app builder keeps your data, and what it costs to change that. For example, OverSkill's DPA page says:
“Overskill does not currently offer in-region data storage”OverSkill, Data Processing Agreement page, last updated 15 October 2026, checked 21 October 2026
OverSkill's app databases are in North America, and it uses the EU's standard contractual clauses, a recognised legal route, for transfers from the UK and EU.
If you want to tell your members their data is held in Europe, a DPA alone will not let you say that.
What changes with Oakleaf Press
Your app's member data is stored and processed on servers that Oakleaf Press manages in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, with encrypted daily backups in Frankfurt, Germany. The service is managed by Oakleaf Press from the UK. Oakleaf Press does not store or log that data in the US.
Your app's interface is still served by your app builder, so its servers see technical connection details such as visitors' IP addresses. Payments are handled by your payment provider, such as Whop or Stripe, under its own terms.
Hosting in the EU does not on its own make your app GDPR compliant. You still need your own privacy notice and processes.
How it works
- Request a free compatibility check. Tell us about your app and we check it can connect.
- We reply with the result and the plan we suggest.
- If you go ahead, we set up a fresh EU database, connect your app, test it and hand it over.
Your app starts with a new, empty database. Existing data is not moved across.

Who looks after your data
Oakleaf Press is run by Chris Williams, who has been protecting enterprise companies in the IT space for over 40 years.
- Only Chris can access customer data, and only when you ask him to.
- If you cancel, your data is deleted from the live service straight away and from backups within 30 days.
- If there is a security incident affecting your data, we tell you within 48 hours.
- Read our data processing agreement and how we handle your data.
The service runs on shared, professionally managed servers. It is not a high-availability service and uninterrupted availability is not guaranteed.
